Today, we’re celebrating the youngest members of our Scouting family — our amazing Squirrel Scouts! 🐿️
Here in Spen Valley District, we’re proud to have our Squirrel Drey at the 11th Spen Valley (Hunsworth) Scout Group, where our youngest adventurers have been having fun, making friends, and discovering the world around them. Through games, outdoor activities, and creative challenges, our Squirrels are building confidence, learning new skills, and taking their first steps in Scouting.
Across the country, Squirrel Scouts continue to grow, with 56 new Dreys opening this year — adding to the 1,700 launched since Squirrels began!
While we haven’t opened any new Dreys in the district this year, we’ve seen the fantastic impact Squirrels can have, giving 4-6-year-olds a chance to develop teamwork, resilience, and a love for adventure.

Your dedication and passion help create lifelong memories and inspire the next generation of Scouts.
